Took some time off to learn about Purple Tea farming at the KALRO-Tea Research Institute (TRI) in Kangaita, Kirinyaga County. Purple Tea is Rrich in antioxidants (especially anthocyanins) that help protect cells from oxidative stress. Purple tea also contains less caffeine than many black teas, offering a gentler energy boost. I bought a few Purple & Green Tea seedlings to plant around my house as flowers. A seedling is 10/- Kenyatta Shillings. Oh, and they also sell Purple & Green Orthodox tea. Their Kombucha made from Purple Tea was a personal favorite.
